Hypnotherapy for Children

If you have concerns about your child's wellbeing then I can help. I work with children from age six upwards (always with a parent or guardian present) on a range of issues, including:

  • Bullying
  • Behavioural problems
  • Sleeping problems and nightmares
  • Anxiety
  • Specific fears and phobias
  • Exam nerves
  • Habits
  • Self confidence and self esteem

Children make brilliant hypnotherapy clients. They are curious and open and have amazing imaginations. They generally learn self-hypnosis very easily and this gives them a life skill to help them to deal with future issues.

Generally four-sessions, with some homework in between, are sufficient to resolve most issues. If the child has more than one issue then additional sessions may be required, but frequently resolving one issue may have beneficial effects in other areas.

For me, it is crucial that the kinds of issues listed above should be dealt with as soon as possible. They tend to get worse if not treated and, for a significant number of my adult clients, childhood problems contribute significantly to their current issue.

In the case of young clients I am happy to meet with both parents and the child to discuss hypnosis and how hypnotherapy can help before the decision to proceed is made. It is important that both the parents and the child believe that the issue needs resolving and are happy with the proposed treatment approach.

Many thanks for the wonderful results you achieved with our daughter who came to you with bullying and self-esteem issues. She has flourished since your course of coaching and hypnotherapy and become a more confident person with skills to deal with this dreadful behaviour by her peers. She has also benefitted from the use of NLP in spelling enabling her to visualise the words on her mental white board thereby storing spellings safely for use next time. The virtual white board is a brilliant concept in today’s electronic mind-set. I would just like to reiterate our thanks for all your help and continued support during what has been a stressful time for all concerned and you always made her feel so important. Thank you.
